10 Things I Learned from ‘Feel Rich Health is the New Wealth’

Feel Rich Health is the New Wealth is a documentary available on Netflix and through iTunes. Produced by Quincy Jones III and featuring Common, Russell Simmons, The Game, Fat Joe, Jermaine Dupri and others.

Here are 10 of the things I learned, watch the doc and get woke!:

Charlie Parker died at 35.

Big Pun died at 28.

Paul Wall had bariatric surgery like me.  I lost more than 222 pounds.

People of color have health disparities.  Blacks are twice as likely to suffer a stroke than our white counterparts–Nancy Brown, CEO American Heart Association.

Childhood obesity costs 15 billion a year and adult obesity 150 billion according to Dwayne C. Proctor of the Robert Woods Foundation.

“Stillness and focus promotes bliss”- Russell Simmons.

“Food should be free it’s like printing your own money.”

“Holistic approach to healing which includes thinking, fitness, eating, families, and finances.”

“Breathing through life is the solution to everything”.

Entertainers and rappers getting in shape and being role models.

Feeling rich is being mentally physically and spiritually your best.

In honor of hip-hop soldiers who have passed due to health.
