Ray Charles Robinson sunrise 9/23/1930 Albany, NY, sunset 6/10/2004 Beverly Hills, CA.

Musician, singer, songwriter, composer.

Married twice, 12 children by 9 different women.

His mother was a sharecropper.

He started to lose his sight at age four and completely lost it by age 7.

One of the first black musicians to be granted artistic control by a mainstream record company.

Frank Sinatra said he was:  “the only true genius in show business.”

Billy Joel said:  ” . . . I think Ray Charles was more important than Elvis Presley.”
